Asset Tagging and Data Collection
Once you have set up Types and Assets, you can start tagging them to records within various Kahua applications. A record is an artifact (document) that is a direct output of a business process (for example, Change Orders produced by the Change Orders process).
Important The typical steps for completing an RFI, ASI, Daily Report, or other record do not need to change. The additional task is to tag the record to an Asset or Asset Type.
The following Kahua applications support asset tagging:
-
File Manager
-
Architect Supplemental Information (ASIs)
-
Daily Reports
-
Change Orders
-
Construction Change Directives (CCD)
-
Communications
-
Design Comments
-
Field Observations
-
Issues
-
Meetings
-
Purchase Orders
-
Punch Lists
-
RFIs
-
Submittals
How to . . .
- Open the record in the applicable Kahua app.
- Select the tagging icon and choose an Asset or Asset Type.
- Select Save/Close.
- In Asset Manager, open the related type or asset and confirm the record appears in Linked Documents.
Asset-related files can be collected from Submittals by defining file attributes and tagging an Asset Type on a Submittal.
- Create file-type attributes (for example, Warranty Document, O&M Manuals, Cut Sheet files) and assign them to the appropriate asset class.
- Tag the Asset Type on the Submittal.
- Add the file(s) in the Submittal References section.
- After the Submittal is approved, select Update Asset Type to copy the file(s) to the Asset Type.
- Select the Share icon in the app.
- Choose the company to share with and select the option to filter by Responsible Company.
- Each company sees only the records they are responsible for completing.
- Updates are reflected immediately within the project. Sharing can be cancelled at any time if needed.
