File size and type restrictions
The following limits apply to Kahua applications:
The maximum file size upload limit for all apps is 10GB.
You will be warned if you attempt to upload a file that exceeds the maximum file size.
When sending a message to an email address outside of Kahua, the maximum email message size including attachments is 20MB.
If an outbound email exceeds this limit, the email body is still sent but the attachments are removed and replaced with a text message titled "attachments_removed.txt". The added text file includes the following message:
The attachments exceed 20 megabytes. The following files have been removed:
{file name.file type - file size}
If you are a Kahua user, you can access these files in your Messages app using the “Click Here” link in the footer of this email.
If you are not a Kahua user, request a Kahua invitation from the sender to create a free Kahua account, which will allow you to access large files sent from Kahua in the future.
When sending files for electronic signature via Docusign, there are limits on the sizes of individual files and on the cumulative size of all the files together.
The individual file size maximum per send is 46MB.
The cumulative file size maximum per send is 92MB.
You will be warned if you attempt to send files for electronic signature that exceed the individual or cumulative maximum.
For security reasons, potentially malicious file types are blocked from being uploaded into Kahua.
In addition to restricting the file types listed below from being uploaded directly into Kahua, zip files containing any of the restricted file types will also be blocked from being uploaded into Kahua.
The following file extensions cannot be uploaded to Kahua:
asp, bat, com, css, dll, dmg, exe, jar, js, jsp, htm, html, php, php3, ps1, swf, vba, vbs, vbx, xlm, xlv
