CSI Codes

CSI codes are a standardized classification system used in the construction industry to organize detailed information about construction materials, products, and activities on a project.

The CSI Codes app allows you to upload the CSI codes used in your project and reference them in other applications. You can import the codes or add them manually.

Note The CSI Codes app is used on the project level for cost activity codes and with document management apps such as Submittals and RFIs. To add CSI Codes at the domain level for use with the Asset Management suite of apps, refer to CSI MasterFormat Codes.

Key things to know about the CSI codes app:

  • CSI Codes are entered per project. They are not inherited down through the hierarchy.

  • CSI Codes can be imported or entered manually.

  • If imported, you can create a "parent" structure, so codes are organized by division.

  • They can be referenced in multiple applications, such as Submittals, RFIs, and Punch List.
