Classes - Template
The Asset Definition > Classes-Template sub-application is where you group Asset Classes from the Classes - Master sub-application together so they can be selected for different types of projects. Depending on your business, you may group assets together by project type. Examples of templates you might create include Commercial, Hospital, Residential, or School project types.
Key elements to know about this application include the following:

The Asset Definition > Classes-Templates app is a domain-level app. Regardless of which project or partition is open when records are added, the values are stored at the domain level.

The Classes-Templates app let you create a group of Asset Classes so users can quickly apply the right set of classes for a specific project type.

You build a template by naming it and then selecting the relevant Asset Classes from the Classes-Master list.

Templates can be tailored to match how your organization categorizes assets across different project types (for example, Commercial vs. Residential).
How to . . .
To create a new asset template, complete the following steps:

Navigate to the Asset Definition > Classes-Template app (Apps > Asset Management > Asset Definition > Classes - Templates).

Click New in the action bar.

Complete the following fields as appropriate:
Field Description Name Enter a name for the Asset Class Template (for example, Commercial, Hospital, Residential, or School).
Library In this section, select the asset classes that are appropriate for the template you are building.
Note The asset classes are created in the Asset Definition > Classes - Master sub-application. For more information, refer to Classes - Master.
Select Insert Classes-Master to add the Asset Classes you want included in the template.
On the Insert Classes-Master dialog, use the log view selector to filter the list, or click on the Search icon
to search the list. Select the check box next to the appropriate asset classes. Click Select when you are done.The first ten asset classes appear on the list. To review all the selected asset classes, click Show All at the bottom of the section.
To remove asset classes from the list, select the check box next the asset class and select Delete from the header.

Click Save when you are done.
To delete a record, complete the following steps:

Review the header to ensure that you are in the correct project or partition.

Navigate to the application.

In the log view, select the check box next to the record or multiple records that you want to delete. Select Delete from the action bar.

Alternatively, right-click on the record in the log view and select Delete.

Click OK on the confirmation message. The record or records will be deleted.
Note If a record was deleted in error, it can be recovered from the Recycle Bin application by an administrator. For more information, refer to Using the Recycle Bin.
Your domain administrator or another user with the appropriate permissions can configure the app in the Configuration application.
Important Because this is a domain-level app, you must navigate to the root domain to access Configuration for this app.
The Configuration app can be accessed directly through the apps list (Apps > Administration > Configuration), or by right-clicking on an application in the launch bar and selecting Configure. When you select Configure for an app from the launch bar, the detail view of the configuration page for that application opens automatically.
