Project Summaries
Notice Kahua is a very flexible and customizable platform. In your domain, this application may have been modified to meet your company's needs. The online help uses default field labels for field names and describes standard workflows. Please check with your domain administrator for specific information about working in your organization's domain.
The Project Summaries app is used in conjunction with the Program Summary app to automatically generate a set of reports that can be compiled into a single pdf on a regular schedule. The Program Summary app is typically useful for programs with multiple projects with regular reporting needs for upper management.

Key elements of the Project Summaries app are as follows:

You will be assigned project summaries to complete on projects where you are listed as the Project Manager on the Project Information page. Refer to Project Information.

Other users with access to the Project Summaries app and the appropriate permissions can also complete the project summary assigned to the project.

A project summary must be set to a status of "Done" and compiled to be available for inclusion in the Program Summary.
How to . . .
The project summary contains your updates on the project, uploaded photos, selected reports, and any files you are asked to upload.
When you compile the report, a single pdf containing all these items is generated. Setting the status to "Done" will make the compiled report available for inclusion in the program summary report.
To complete the project summary, complete the following steps:

Review the header to ensure that you are in the correct project or partition.

Navigate to the Project Summaries application (Apps > All Apps > Project Summaries).

Select the appropriate project summary from the log view.
Alternatively, select the assigned task from your tasks list and select View Source Record. For more information on Tasks, refer to Tasks App.

Click Edit in the action bar.

Complete the following fields as appropriate:
Note Depending on how this app is configured for your domain, there may be fields or sections listed here that do not appear for you, fields and sections that appear for you which are not listed here, or fields and sections which appear in a different order. If you have any questions, check with your domain administrator.
Field Description Details Number The number is pre-assigned. Program Name This name is assigned in the Program Summary that this set of reports will be added to. Status Select one of the following options:

Draft - Select this status when the project summary is not yet complete.

Done- Select this status when the project summary is done.
Important The status must be set to "Done" for the Project Summary to be included in the Program Summary report.
Project Description / Progress Update / Notes 1 / Notes 2
Complete these fields as appropriate.
Photos Use this section to add photos to the project summary.
Include Photos on Report Select this option to include the photos added here on the report.
Select File Click on the More icon
> Select File to select an image file to add to the report.If desired, add text to the line below the file name.
Items The components of the project summary appear here. For more information on working with grids, refer to Item Grids. Type One of the following options appears here:

Report - This indicates that this report is generated by Kahua automatically

File - This indicates that you are required to upload a file. Follow the guidance in the Instructions field and upload the report in the File field.
Instructions This field lists the report you are required to upload to the File field. File Click on the More icon
> Select File to select a file to add to the report. -

Click Save when you are done, or Save / Compile Report to also compile the report.
Important You must compile the report to make it available for inclusion in the program summary report. Your project summary must also be set to "Done" to be available for inclusion in the program summary.
To review the compiled report, complete the following steps:

Select the project summary from the log view to open the detail view.

Access the compiled report one of the following ways:

Scroll down to the Summary Report Versions section. Each time you compile the report, a new version is created. The latest version is used when the Program Summary is compiled, but you can view earlier versions if desired. Click on the version you want to open and select View in the header.

Click on the Summary Report tab to open the pdf file in the viewer. The latest version appears here. For more detailed information on using the File Viewer, refer to Viewing files in File Manager.

Your domain administrator or another user with the appropriate permissions can configure the app in the Configuration application.
Important When working in the Configuration app, it is important to review the header and ensure that you are working at the correct level in the hierarchy, either the root domain or at a partition or project level.
Settings that you establish at the root domain or lower levels will inherit down the hierarchy until they are overridden. For more information on the hierarchical structure of Kahua, refer to Understanding the hierarchical structure of Kahua.
The Configuration app can be accessed directly through the apps list (Apps > Administration > Configuration), or by right-clicking on an application in the launch bar and selecting Configure. When you select Configure for an app from the launch bar, the detail view of the configuration page for that application opens automatically.
