Setting up your domain
The domain administrator is the person with the rights to perform administrative functions in your domain. You may need to perform some or all of the following functions in your domain.
How to . . .
The first individual from a company that registers as a Kahua user also sets up the Kahua domain and is, by default, the Kahua Domain Administrator and User Administrator. The first purchased license is also assigned to this user in most cases. That person may not be the appropriate person to function as your domain administrator. You can transfer those rights to another user by adding the other user to the Domain Administrator group in the Groups app, removing the original domain administrator, and assigning the appropriate licenses to the new domain administrator. For more information, refer to Transfer administrative rights to another user.
When your domain is first created, information about your company is stored in the Community. To update that information, you can edit your company's profile in the Company Profiles app. Refer to Updating your company information in the Company Profiles app.
Domain settings are managed in the Domain Settings app. These settings apply to your entire domain. In this app you can manage your domain name, security settings, authentication and domain defaults. For more information, refer to Managing Domain Settings.
Partitions and projects are configured in the Configuration app. The app includes settings that apply to the project or partition as a whole, and settings that apply to individual apps when you are in that project or partition. These settings inherit downward through the hierarchy until they are overridden. For more information on the hierarchical structure of Kahua, refer to Understanding the hierarchical structure of Kahua.
For information on the Configuration app, refer to Configuration app.
Internal users are users at your own company who will be logging in to your Kahua domain. For more information on adding internal users, refer to Adding Internal Users.
A powerful feature of the Kahua platform is the ability to share project information across domains. For example, a general contractor can share a project's RFI log or submittal log on a project with the subcontractors on that project, ensuring everyone is on the same page. As the domain administrator, you can manage sharing in your domain. For more general information on sharing in Kahua, refer to Understanding how Kahua sharing works.
For more specific information on managing sharing using the Share Manager app, refer to Share Manager app.
